SITE VISIT REPORTSwargate metro

Department of Civil engineering has organized a site visit for M.E First Year students at Swargate MAHAMETRO underground metro constructionat Pune on 15th of Mar 2023 at 11.00 am. Faculties Prof. Sushma Awad, Prof. Amrutraj Khemalpure& students were present for the site visit. As per the curriculum of SPPU, Pune & Lab Practice-I subject to understand thoroughly it is beneficial to arrange such site visits, following are the site visit outcomes.

Er. Abhay was the Project Manager & they gave all information about the is being processed at site and how they manage the Execution and safety precautions.

Objectives of the Site visit

  • To know about various equipment used in underground metro construction.
  • To know the different techniques for underground construction.
  • To know about the safety measures taken while underground construction.

Details about the Site-

  • Swargate is an important location for the underground section of Line 1 of the Pune Metro Rail project.
  • The Swargate metro station will be located near the Swargate Bus Stand, which is a major transportation hub in Pune.
  • The station will have two levels: the concourse level and the platform level. The concourse level will have ticketing counters, customer service centers, and other amenities, while the platform level will have the metro tracks and platforms.
  • The station will be built using the cut-and-cover method, which involves excavating a trench and then covering it with a concrete roof.
  • The Swargate metro station will be approximately 30 meters deep, with the platform level located at a depth of around 25 meters.
  • The station will have four entry/exit points, located at different corners of the intersection of Satara Road and Shankarsheth Road.
  • The Swargate metro station will be one of the busiest stations on the Line 1, as it will connect the North-South corridor with the East-West corridor at the intersection of two major roads in Pune.

CONCLUSION:

From the underground metro construction site visit, students are able to know the different site survey before start of work. Also planning, scheduling and management of required material, different tests on construction materials, equipment required at different stages, different techniques for execution of work. Need of safety and safety tools while execution of work.

TATA METRO SITE VISIT

Department of Civil engineering has organized a site visit for TATA PROJECT CASTING YARD at Pune on 30th of Dec 2022 at 11.00 am. As per the curriculum of SPPU, Pune &Lab Practice-I subject to understand thoroughly it is beneficial to arrange such site visits, following are the site visit outcomes.

1. We should know the practical knowledge of manufacturing of new construction materials like precast of different things which is useful for the metro

2.To know the new construction techniques& equipment.

3.Use of different construction materials

Er.koti Reddy was the Project Manager of TATA Metro,they give all information about the casting wokwhich is being processed at site and how they manage the transportation and  safety precautions.

Details about the Site-

Pune Metro Line 3 (Hinjewadi phase 2 to Civil court)

        The total length of this project is 23km and its completion time is of 39 months

        with the date started on 21st Nov 2021.

        It’s a joint venture between PMRDA and TATA power and Siemen

        They are completing this project in 3 sections very each section varies from 7-8 km

        The completion time of the project is 39 months.

        The metro line will start to operate  from 2025.

  There are a special Labour colony constructed with a meetal sheets so that it can be

easily wrapped up after work completion

   The plan of the pune metro is to connect all the lines to a place where all the city connected

And  easily accessible to all the peoples

        After completion of the Project all the casting yard will be demolished and it will hand over

         to the parented owner of the land Yashoda developers.

Conclusion

  1. Different methods of Techniques of execution of metro work.
  2. Different equipment, machineries, tools used for soil excavation, soil strengthening methods. 
  3. Got to about exact procedure of the casting of the segment,pier, piles, precast materials

         and how they manage all these things in the casting yard.

The purpose of site visit was to study the tendering procedures, project feasibility aspects, accounting procedures and financial management aspects, billing pro- cedures etc. in construction projects.
