The Department of Computer Engineering was established in July 2011. The Department offers a 4 year undergraduate program in B.E. (Computer Engineering).
The B.E program was awarded accreditation by NAAC A grade.
The Department welcomes you to be a part of the thriving computer science community and become leaders and visionary of the future. The Department of Computer Engineering at RMD Sinhgad School of Engineering was established in the year 2012 with an intake capacity of 120. The aim of the department is to provide state of the art computing facilities to create competent engineers with professionalism and responsibility. The department offers two undergraduate programmes (BE Computer Engineering) and one post graduate programme (ME Computer Engineering). The department has qualified and experienced faculty to impart quality teaching to students. Our distinguished faculty members ensure a wide range of diverse learning experiences ranging from the fundamentals of Computer Science, Core Courses, Programming, Emerging Technologies like Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Block-chain, Professional Ethics, Research Methodologies and Open-Source Technologies. The students are motivated to achieve excellence not only in academics but also their overall development.
We as a Computer Engineering department along with all teaching and learning activities also works as an Incubation center for Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship. We follow the Motto Help-Grow-Motivate to cater the demand of research and innovation through the incubation center. We imbibe the research culture in our students by conducting the workshops, seminars, conferences and motivate them for research by providing laboratory and equipment along with guidance. Running alongside with the Incubation center we also provide students and faculty with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) guidance and training. As a department we have proactively worked towards IPR filing
Our department is proud to have a strong Alumni network who have been working at influential positions in the IT industry where many have started their own journey through start-ups and many are established overseas. The Department focuses on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and is striving at its best to provide students with the latest technological Workshop, latest technical skills etc. the department also has MOUs with Industry leaders which provides with latest knowledge and a state of art technologies to our students.
Software industry is one of the largest growing sectors of Indian industry for the last two decades. We aim at creating software engineers with high caliber and technical expertise. The department strives to make learning more creative, interactive and information driven by using state of the art technology. The department prepares students to face challenges in industry as well as society and to excel in higher education and research. The department provides students with the basic knowledge of mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to solve problems in the software and hardware industry. Students are equipped with abilities to analyze, design, and create novel products and solutions for real life problems. The department inculcates professional ethics, effective communication skills, teamwork skills and multi-disciplinary approach among the students.
